"Your Source for Supply Chain Solutions"

Compaines seeking a 3PL provider should consider these three elements:

1. Commitment to the client:  Is the selected 3PL provider working in the best interest of the client? With today's market a "one program" fits all approach does not necessarily bring about the desired results. A 3PL provider who can work with clients to determine their exact needs and target results for those needs works best in impacting the clients' bottom line.

2. Experience:  When evaluating logistics providers, experience does count. However, that experience should be broadbased and across all facets of the supply chain. For example, third party providers who only provide warehousing services may not be the correct resource when merge-in-transit functions are the solution.

3. Process Development:  "If you can't measure it - you can't manage it" definitely rings true in today's business environment. When every penny counts along every step of the supply chain, compnaies looking at 3PL providers need to identify those that rely heavily on process development and benchmarket measurements.
